OVER 50 YEARS OF JUDICIAL SERVICE

1. Circuit Court Foundation

For many years, Anamaduwa functioned as a Circuit Court attached to the Puttalam District Magistrate’s Court. Judicial sittings were conducted periodically, and the people of Anamaduwa and the surrounding villages had to depend on the Puttalam court system for the administration of justice.

This change greatly improved access to justice for the local community by enabling regular court sittings and the continuous handling of civil and criminal matters within the area.

Following its establishment as a permanent Magistrate’s Court, the institution continued to expand its judicial and administrative functions. Systematic improvements were introduced to the court’s infrastructure, staffing, and operational capacity in order to meet the increasing needs of the public.
